How can I get a product list?
Please call or email SanJuanFarmFresh@gmail.com and we will get you sample product lists from different times of the season.
How does ordering work?
Telluride customers will receive a notice Tuesday morning that the market is open for ordering. You may place an order until Tuesday evening, either using the website or by phone on Tuesday afternoon. Deliveries are made to Telluride on Friday afternoon.
If you have standing orders, LFL will ensure that these are already placed in your shopping cart and removed from inventory when the market opens for ordering.
Who do I write a check to?
Make checks payable to Local Food Logic LLC. LFL advances money to farmers when the produce is picked up, and then collects payment from buyers. This way, many products from many farms can be included on the same invoice and the same check.
When and how much do I pay?
Payment upon delivery is requested because it helps maintain a stable cash flow for LFL, and by extension, the small farms it works with. The SJFF fee is 20%, added to the invoice subtotal.
Can I negotiate directly with farms?
Absolutely. The SJFF service is a convenient enabler of the nuts and bolts of distribution. The relationships that maintain a strong local food system are essential to what SJFF does, and farmers and chefs are encouraged to make connections, form relationships, and otherwise plan business independent of the work of SJFF.
Why use SanJuanFarmFresh.com?
The SJFF service is the most convenient way to access local products from an array of producers with only a single phone call, a single order, and a single delivery. Farmers pay 3% of gross sales to participate, meaning that 97% of an item’s cost goes directly to the farm, as compared with about 15% in conventional industrial agriculture. Furthermore, SJFF is a service that has real marketing value for buyers wishing to demonstrate to their customers a strong commitment to local food.
